Why not buy some shares of Circuit City!), let alone account security concerns, but why the #%@& would you pay $12.50 commissions to E-Trade when you ...... (Read complete news)

Hot, Tired, but Happy
Wed, 10 Jun 2009 03:12:00 +0100Yes, it's hot here today. After a long winter that, to be honest, could have been much worse, springtime arrived and allowed me to get outdoors again, and now summer is here and the heat is on. But I won't complain, because I get to do a lot of things I enjoy. I actually enjoy doing the yard work, though it's hard sometimes, but nice. I really love to cook outside on the grill, and of course Tanner absolutely loves that too, because he knows that when I cook for me, I also cook for him. Spoiled? Yeah, but that's what... Weird Tales Of Your Neighbourhood Rock Star
Tue, 09 Jun 2009 19:53:00 +0100Okay, maybe rock star is a bit much. At my age I feel like anything but. Actually, over the last fifteen years I don’t think I’ve ever really felt like a rock star. I sort of just make records and have had the good fortune of all of them doing pretty good. Up until the [...]... (Read complete news)
Exaggerations, Similes and Metaphors the Size of Texas
Mon, 08 Jun 2009 12:53:00 +0100I like exaggerations, similes and metaphors. They allow you to be expressive and create word associations that add an extra layer of description. I've talked about spiders enough for you to know I hate them, and because I hate them, I like to overstate their size by suggesting they're as big as a state in the union just so you know I'm not talking about any old house spider you could squish with your thumb. There was a hairy one the size of Montana in the pool last week, and the men who were treating the water and folding up... (Read complete news)

Ain't nature bitchin' - update
Fri, 05 Jun 2009 19:01:00 +0100It's been a while since the last Ain't nature bitchin' post. The phrase of course comes from the Rugburns and my favorite tune, Dicks's Automotive. Anyhow I stumbled into this one via A Welsh View. And thought it was so good I had to share it. This is from Alaska, imagine walking out into your back yard and finding 30 or so Bald Eagles there. Well this what happened, bitchin'! Thanks to the original poster, Here is what he has to says. "A bunch of bald eagles show up in our back yard. You get to hear a lot of the bald eagles talking.... Picture of grace... transformation
Sun, 31 May 2009 12:22:00 +0100Picture of grace... Originally uploaded by shorthorse Early on a Saturday morning I came across this photo, Picture of Grace, by my Flickr friend Shorthorse. I left this comment: "I will try to be graceful in my garden today." (click on the photo to see the response I got) Then I went out into the garden. two thoughts tried to stay in my wondering brain. Be mindful of your body and how it moves. I was entering into a backyard full of dead squirrels and weeds and who knows what else. A few days earlier my sister-in-law came over while I was...
