He first of all was drummer in a rock band and a radiostation dj in Naples. In the early 80s, when everything in music changed, he was resident dj in some of the coolest clubs of his city…playing what that age dancefloor need to dance, so: disco-funk but, loving 360°music, he also played rock, glam and new wave. Then in 1985/86…there was house music explosion, and also cause he ‘s always searching for nu sounds and nu groove.. starts collaborations for most of the Italian clubs that follow the nu dancefloor-scene. In the mean time he played as resident dj on a cruise ship and also as audio technician. Early in the 90s he moved for long time in California and Florida, always searching for nu sound experience. In Miami, he collaborated starting a club project called “BeautyClub”…where people, while make massages ,sauna and hairdress,,,they can watch fashion-show and listen to his djset. Then, he start to make his hown electronic house music productions , and back in Italy start to play elsewhere, opening night for most of the greatest international djs. The years between 1999 and 2001 see him as mastermix and dj in a very famous radio station, called RadioTour.Groove and funk is what he always loved…so he focused his set on that period on French Touch sound. The nu millennium started and he open his own club (GlassCafe), where, for about 5 years he worked and played for, and where many famous djs come and played (Berth Bevans,Roberto Funaro Lello Romano,Marco Carola,Filippo Nardi Iguana ,EnzoCipolletta, Minimod, Alessandra Argentino).After all he start to live in Milan , from where he start to collaborate with dhm.it. Actually , his djset could be Deep-House Garage,Minimal Electronic FunkGroove , OldSkoolFrenchTouch,NuFrenchSound and BastardMix.Djs he loves: Larry Levan, Dave Angel, Justice, Superfunk, Fafa Montego, Daft Punk, Laurent Garnier, Terry Lee Brown Jr. and (of course) Dave Mancuso. ROBERTO FUNARO Roberto Funaro (djfunaro) Started to be professional level dj from 1992, always searching new sounds and experimentations.He take care of music and plays sound in the more exclusive clubs, often taking advantage itself with musicians in jamesessions and searches always location evocative for its djset. He is the artistic director from 2003 of movement D.H.M deep house movement ( http://www.dhm.it/ ): it is taken care to organize house events in the whole peninsula, to educate the great public to a quality music and it also engage to it many artisti/dj. In 1998 was one of the pioneers of the most successful experimental satellite radio station “RadioTour”; as musical consultant, and do same for other stations.In the meantime he also do work as music selector for web sites specialized in the music field. He did numerous contributions to the development and the spread of a sure type of sound (jazz, funk, chill out, lounge, elettro, beat and house), and collaborations to great musical events: Neapolis Rock Festival, Fest Peak, Mc Music etc etc. From 2007 the BLACK CIRCUS ( http://www.circonero.org/ ) undertakes a new plan to the court of Leandro Bisenzi (former-TENAX)).His music influences are 360° and depends from the feelings of the location in which he plays, for this is not strange to listen to space his set from the soulful to the deep, or chill or still house, his inspiration artist is Larry Levan and between the many artists with which she has worked or collaborated he numbers names like: Feel Good Productions, Kelly Joyce, Tony Esposito, Ciccio Merolla, Lucariello (Almamegretta), Nicola Conte, Gerardo Frisina, Marco Corvino , Lino D Meglio aka DjSwared, House Keeper, Z-Star, Nidi D’ Arac, Stefano Miele aka Madox, Alessandra Argentino and many others. DJ FUNARO has moreover created an orchestra with which he plays a jamesession show creating a real live concert.
