Ufomammut is a psychedelic sludge metal band from Italy, formed in 1999. The band draws influences from bands such as Kyuss, Neurosis, Pink Floyd, Blue Cheer and early Black Sabbath.
Biography
After releasing its well-received
Godlike Snake debut in 2000, Ufomammut contributed odd tracks to numerous compilations and tribute albums, most notably the
Blue Explosion tribute to Blue Cheer.
Recorded in 2003, the band's second album
Snailking was released by The American Music Cartel a year later.
Lucifer Songs followed in late 2005 in both CD/DVD and LP/DVD combinations, produced by the band's new label Supernatural Cat together with Rocket Recordings.
After
Lucifer Songs was released, many musical critics defined the band?s sound as the beginning of a whole new kind of music, which mixes doom with psychedelic, trance with extreme, industrial with post-rock.
