Eva Cassidy - People Get Ready
Sun, 21 Jun 2009 08:01:00 +0100_People Get Ready_ is one of my favorite spiritual songs of all. Though I have heard it done as a purely gospel song, I do not really think of it as a gospel song. What ever you feel about it, I hope you enjoy this version by Eva Cassidy. People Get Ready mp3 by Eva Cassidy People Get Ready mp3 @Amazon.com... (Read complete news)

Shockingly different Berg Lulu, Royal Opera House
Sat, 06 Jun 2009 06:09:00 +0100The buzz was right - this new Lulu at the Royal Opera House, London is shockingly different. Christof Loy's production of Alban Berg's Lulu is what minimalism should be : pared down to essentials so all attention is on the music. The stage is almost empty, no props, no furnishings. At first you think, why stage this at all, then ? Why not just a concert performance ? But gradually it dawns that the "empty" space isn't empty at all but inhabited by the music, uncompromising and unadorned. That's why it's so disturbing. Without décor to cushion the narrative, it's... (Read complete news)

Movie Review - Experiments in Terror 3
Thu, 04 Jun 2009 21:40:00 +0100Experiments in Terror 3 I was sent to review Experiments in Terror 3, a new collection of horror shorts with an emphasis on surreal, experimental techniques that differ from normal conventions. Avant garde art is always interesting to me; I'm the type of guy who can't stick to one thing for very long, so a change of pace for the horror genre really grabs me. The term "terror," though, should be taken a bit loosely when considering the film, as I didn't find much of what was presented scary. It's surreal, a little bloody, and sometimes suspenseful, but there's more comedic portrayals... (Read complete news)

Show Me What You Got....Post 420
Thu, 04 Jun 2009 08:15:00 +0100This is post #420. Blaze 'em if I got 'em. Got 'em? No....oh well! Today's topic originated from a few minutes ago. I was watching BET's The Deal. They showed Kanye West's "Amazing". I like the song, but the video is certified "CHEEQZ". That's cheeks, as in buttcheeks. I remember a time in which music videos had deeper meaning than the song did, which is why I hate 95% of today's Rap videos. All that rented flashin' and stuntin' don't mean shit, and never will. The reason I ever picked up on Kanye West is because of his creative videos.... (Read complete news)
David Guetta & Kelly Rowland - 'When Love Takes Over'
Thu, 04 Jun 2009 01:14:00 +0100The video for Kelly Rowland's collaboration with David Guetta 'When Love Takes Over' premiered a few moments ago. As a big fan of the song, I was hopeful the vid would do it justice - which it most definitely did. Fun, light hearted, and uplifting, the clip really manages to capture the essence of the song. I must say too, Kelly looked stunning. What do you think of the song video?... (Read complete news)
Gotta Get Ya Groove on!
Thu, 04 Jun 2009 01:13:00 +0100Now normally I guess I seem like the average Southern Music basher or something close to that, but there is one thing I am extremely proud of dudes from the South of doing. Bringing back grown men dancing. Now yeah I know you're about to say hold up, didn't you call the G-spot boys clowns for doing the "Stanky Legg"? Yes, i did. You know why, look at this shit. 'Sup In June
Tue, 02 Jun 2009 12:54:00 +0100As you've likely noticed by now, the monthly "Sup In ..." post has become less of a list of what I'm doing, and more of a list of what I would do if I were you. The shows that I plan to attend tend not to see the light of day more often than not, and it seems that each month showcases a show or two that I end up going to as more of a spur of a moment type of thing. June is going to be busy with this year's NXNE festival in full force which I'm obviously... (Read complete news)
The video and the blog about the video
Tue, 02 Jun 2009 02:19:00 +0100The video has been slowly crawling it's way onto teh interwebz. Thought it was about time I blogged about it. The song is called Meatmarket. It was written a few years back when I was playing round with creating electronic music, and then more recently recreated as a rock song, you know, in a band [...]... (Read complete news)
