These days...
Sun, 14 Jun 2009 23:02:00 +0100Summer has been a bit slow recently. My most recent event was a family gathering yesterday for my grandmother's birthday, but those don't really count. Since I've been cooped up in my room doing nothing, I've decided to look through the works of some of my favorite photographers (mainly Zhang Jingna, Tricia Gostingtian, Akif Hakan, and Antonio Ysursa). Now that I think about it, I think those four are the only photographers whom I idolize... I watched a mini-documentary on Zhang Jingna on YouTube and became very inspired. Not sure if I could make it big like she has, but then again, she seems to be the hard working type and therefore deserves her success. I mean, in just two years she was able to become an extremely popular and well respected photographer. Oh, gosh. I sound like a fanboy or something, haha... I'll stop right there. I'm getting a new camera soon; my parents have agreed to buy me my first dslr. I'm getting either a Nikon D60 or a Canon EOS Rebel xsi... well, that's what we decided on as of right now, anyways. I'd like to start off small since I'm obviously still new to photography. Because the weather is very agreeable and such lately, I'd like to do some summer shoots, but I plan to talk to some of my friends and see if we can get some new models. It would be a really good experience because when I used dslr cameras at school, I was limited... (Read complete news)

The most popular song in the world
Tue, 17 Mar 2009 23:56:00 +0100So I'm playing the piano for a wedding in May, so today I dusted off the old "Canon in D" by Pachelbel. While I do love that song, I can summarize it for you in 8 letters. D, A, Bm, F#m, G, D, G, A. Yes, that's all. Just play these notes over and over [...]... (Read complete news)
Inauguration Panorama
Sat, 31 Jan 2009 14:38:00 +0100If you thought your litle 7-megapixel Canon/Sony digital camera was taking high-res pictures, you were cereally wrong. Photographer David Bergman has made an incredible panorama image of Barack Obama's inauguration ceremony, consisting of 220 Canon G10 images stitched together, for a total resolution of 1,474 megapixels and a file size of almost 2 gigabytes. If this means nothing to you, click on the above link and have a look. From a viewpoint where almost the entire audience is visible, you can zoom in and see every face. The sheer logistics of this are mind-boggling! Apologies for the lazy title/post. My brain is... (Read complete news)
