Robert Frederick Zenon Geldof As he is not a citizen of a Commonwealth realm, Geldof is ineligible for a full honour and so holds an honorary KBE.His 1989 autobiography "Is That It?"KBE, known as Bob Geldof (born 5 October 1951), is an Irish singer, songwriter, actor and political activist who became famous as a member of the rock band The Boomtown Rats. His achievements include organising Live Aid and Live 8. Geldof's most notable compositions include "Rat Trap" and "I Don't Like Mondays".He also starred as Pink in Pink Floyd's 1982 film The Wall.
Early career
Geldof was born in Dún Laoghaire, Ireland, to Catholic parents. His father, Robert, (also known as Bob) was the son of a Belgian immigrant.
